To celebrate Easter, Sophie de Bernardi – the Pastry Chef at the Café de la Paix indulged in a little fun with the hotel’s mascot, Alfred the teddy. A tribute to Alfred Armand, the architect who built the Grand Hôtel in 1862, this mascot wears the iconic lemonade vendor outfit, a nod to the hotel’s past. The young chef chose to create the chocolate teddy for children, those most concerned by the celebrations – and also to remind us of the Café de la Paix’s golden age.
« Real, good, and home-made. I simply wanted to make something sweet, and child-like. After all, Easter is really about making the kids happy » smiles Sophie.
For this latest Easter treat, Sophie de Bernardi chose to « dress » her teddy in a milk chocolate 51% Riachuelo from Brazil.
