Just next to the Palais Garnier, iconic spot devoted to gourmet cuisine. Enjoy and share them as you please…

Café near the Paris Opera House

Located on the corner of the boulevard des Capucines and the place de l’Opéra, the Café de la Paix has transcended the ages and is still a truly iconic place, where people enjoy meeting at all hours of the day and until late into the evening.

The café has welcomed many intellectuals and artists such as Guy de Maupassant, Victor Hugo and Ernest Hemingway during the whirlwind days of Paris.

People come here today for breakfast in the beautiful interior room with its listed décor and elegant, bright atmosphere; a delicate contrast of soft tones and dark wood in the Louis XVI and Empire styles, a perfect blend of the Napoléon III décor and a more contemporary touch.

You can also stop at the Café de la Paix for a typical Parisian coffee break in the morning. You can invite your friends for lunch on the terrace or opt for a romantic tête-à-tête with the Palais Garnier as your backdrop. In the evening, it is the place to go for post-show dinners after a performance at the Opera House or the nearby Olympia. You can see Paris at the Café de la Paix.

Over 160 years later, the Café de la Paix’s magical and vibrant Parisian charm is still very much alive…

Café de la Paix in Paris

The menu highlights the finest traditional French by chef Laurent André. Having trained with Alain Chapel and Alain Ducasse, he honours the French gourmet repertoire, which includes, French onion soup, sole meunière or grilled sole served on a pedestal table. These two iconic recipes belong to the great history of the Café de la Paix. Not to mention oysters, shellfish and other seafood from the “Banc de l’Écailler”.

Similarly, the famous caramelised millefeuille and the wonderfully chocolate-filled opera cake continue to delight all gourmets. You will gladly indulge yourself and promise to come back as soon as possible.
